Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
I have young kids so I always try to put sharp and pointy things away, or at least somewhere inaccessible for someone 4ft high - the trouble is the little buggers drag chairs and things around to stand on......
I know the context here is mainly sheath knives, but how many of us keep our kitchen knives out of reach? My best set is in a rack over the kitchen sink and generally out of reach of most toddlers, but I also have a carving knife, a butchers knife, a bread knife, and a set of steak knives in the kitchen drawers easily reached by the 3 year old About 2 feet tall)
If either of my kids find any of my knives around the house they come find me and tell me off. They're of an age where they know not to play with them. They also know they can use them if I supervise and how to use them safely.
