sometimes i do wonder if the world is too gender orintated, yes i like bushcraft.
haven't done that much, when i asked for a spoon knive for my birthday my grandparents told me i'd be fed up of it in a few days! so im trying my best with a blunt pen knife and a stanly knife.

next time you have a bbq, pick up a piece of glowing coal and drop on the wood where you want the bowl of the spoon,..then flick out the softened embers with your penknife..

i dont have a spoon knife either and have still managed to do it this way twice,,,.i think its a bowl technique rarley used for spoons but i tried it,.....

cheers

made some willow bark cordage but it was not neat and i found adding in the lengths really difficult.
thinking about making a bull roarer to take into my physics class as we are doing the dopper(sp?) effect.
got some willow and birch drying out to make a bow drill set ( not sure if thats the right wood?) and some willow for what i fear will be a poor bow ( my grandad s going to help me with that but it's a long time since he made one!)
i would like to try my hand at hunting and tanning hides but the oppitunity has not yet presented itself, besides if i want my parents to let me continue got to keep my head down and study for my gcses.

welcome!

I haven't been on here long but its an infinite resource to learn from with some really nice people. I have learnt a lot already.

Its the doppler effect...you'll soon be sick of hearing about F(0), F(1) etc....i'm a ex-RADAR engineer lol

Have fun!!
