Practising forging out the tangs, I had a play with some old Sheffield files, but wanted to reduce the grinding so left in some of the teeth marks. As its a user and rough looking, I used some nice Ash left over from some greenwood work, and some reclaimed leather samples and bit of Birch burr from an old fallen tree.
The other one was a small rasp out my Granddad's shed, so that's going to be for the wife.
Cuts and holds an edge really well, comfy universal grip in the handle, 4mm thick, 110mm long blade, high scandi grind with micro bevel. Seems to do all the jobs well for bushyness, and I wanted one a tad more robust for battening. I love axes but sometimes I find it easier to baton small wood for little stoves and making tenons when jointing poles for some fancy shelters ive been making at work.
Hope you like.
