Hi Folks,

I have a pair of stockman type goatskin leather gloves that I like to wear when doing certain things. Problem is they tend to get wet and muddy and as a result harden up. I'd like to make them last and was thinking of getting some kind of balm for them to keep the leather conditioned.

Does anyone have a recommendations? They're loads of brand stuff out there but as always your opinions and experience count.

Also, does anyone have any homebrew solutions?

Good ol Nikwax is pretty good for this - it will help to waterproof the leather too.

I also use mink oil for my projects but for the gloves I would opt for nikwax. Warm the gloves well on the radiator then apply while warm and it will soak in nicely

For my bushcraft leather hat I used KIWI Camp Dry Mink Oil. Waterproofs and conditions all outdoor leaters.

Worked a treat on my hat, softened and waterproofed a treat.
