Rain on a canvas tent sounds.......

  • Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
Agreed, a sound loved by pluviophiles everywhere. Some people say they can't sleep with heavy rain on a tarp/tent it's like a sedative to me...

The sound of rain one of the things that might make me leave bivvy bag for a tent. On the bag it goes splat without the drumming really.

Going camping in a week. Big tent on site. Expecting rain. Well, it would wouldn't it as it's my summer hold.

I am a poor sleeper generally, but more so when camping- I love listening to the sound when all warm in my bag / tent / hammock BUT I'm always thinking "damn- pain in the a$$ packing up wet gear! "

Never bloomin happy!

I should've gone to work today....................the darn thing needs a cockcrow at the end!

:lmao:

It's akin to hearing the rain on the cabin roof when safely moored up, good for the soul.

Rob.

Thanks for posting that rainfall clip. I'm downloading it to my PC even as I type this.

I often listen to this soundtrack while I'm drawing, got it bookmarked and all. Sadly when it eventually ends there's a big loud silence, so I just start it over again. This sort of sound is the perfect background noise whilst doing something.

Am i the only one who after listening to that clip for 10 mins with my eyes closed, thought i,d better check my tarps no leaking anywhere. My brain was telling me to check the seams and that there were no drips coming inside .

Cheers Stuart.

But I live in Scotland!? Why do I need a recording of the rain? It never stops!
The black rain falls forever,

The black rain falls forever,

The black rain falls forever,

The black rain falls forever,

The black rain falls forever...

Do they do eight hour vids of sunshine:)

Actually I like it a lot cheers for posting.

I have a similar clip on my phone from under my tarp.

I was toasty warm and dry in my sleeping bag/bivvi bag off the ground. Lying there deep in the woods and feeling cosy was a great memory. Thanks for the reminder.

Always takes me back to Scout camp in Dovedale with my cousin and his parents. I guess my cousin and I were ten or eleven years old.

His dad carried his mum across the Dove but he dipped her bum in the water half-way across and she squealed a bit. :)
