It is fun but one to one fighting in armour is about the most exhausting thing you can do. I tend to stand off and shoot arrows now but I still like a fight at the end of a display. Have been practising recently with shield and spear which is less tiring than waving a sword about.

Reenactment third party insurance is very reasonable.

Nope, those are sparks being generated from the swords hitting one another hard

Not according to a re-enactor I talked to today.

He said they had a Polish member who used to competed in the Polish Knight League and the armour he wore was way above what the British guy had to. His description of them was that basically they're all 'F***ing nutters who like the bash the hell out of each other!'
