Went for a walk (yellow marker 3 mile) around high lodge thetford on saturday, starting to identify some trees for knowledge, but came across a bush that was very common in the South west area of walk with a yellow flower and lots of long thorns on it, wish i had got a picture but didn't, anyone have a suggestion as to what this plant is?
Plant was about 8 feet high at highest, growing close to corsican pine, with very windie trunk, yellow flower looked abit like honey suckle (?) with long thorns 20mm in length and 3mm at widest to sharp point.

Wonder if anyone knows highlodge well and sees this plant regular.

There's a lot of it about up here in some places, difficult to go through, but not as bad as brambles. Protect your face!

The dried dead braches, with spikes still attached, are amazing for starting fires. Often you can find some at the bottom that are dry even after rain. They can also be used to make fishing hooks.
