Orgy at Our Place!

Well, to be clear, there's an orgy going on in our pond!

The water is boiling with frogs doing their stuff - there's masses of frog spawn and they're still at it.

The trouble is our bedroom is the same side of the house as the pond and we can hear the noise lying in bed!

I miss that soothing sound, we had toads in our old garden with there gwaark call.
I’d see them all at a meter or so apart calling on the lawn.

For me, spring has officially started when frogs start spawning
Frogs like all amphibians though, are on the slippery slope of extinction. Lucky are those who can still observe them in large numbers.

I expect there to be a hell of a lot of frogs/toads & newts where I live this year too.. we usually go out as a group to help them cross the road in the evenings(we are surrounded water).
I think Covid might stop people coming out this year, but there’s no harm having a go oneself with a bucket.
