Nice article and I wish them the best with it. Especially after they have comments like this from the art council

Despite the Arts Council refusing to fund them because the craft was “too traditional”, they are determined to make the shed a success.

Since when are traditional crafts too traditional? :confused:

I think the Arts Council is seeing this example as just another small commercial set up.
Lots of tourist sites, certainly up here, have handloom weaving in situ.

I love to see it, throughly enjoy talking with weavers, but it's not 'unique'. It's pretty mainstream.

I do hope their Shed thrives, and really do wish them all the best of luck with it :D

pretty unique around here - especially considering that this area is the home of het British (and formerly) world wool weaving industry.

Just down the road from Silsden is Keighley which also started the industrial cotton weaving industry. That then went over the boarder.
