Plenty of UK spiders can bite people - if their jaws are big enough they can pierce skin. They won't bite though, unless cornered and/or provoked, and none of them are dangerous.

all spiders bite, it's how they do business. as above though, mostly only if provoked. the wee ones cannot pierce skin though and even some of our bigger ones only nip.

(not a spider expert, just what my mate the head warden at a local reserve told me)

Impressive pic, kind of went off spiders in a raining belgium forest, woke up to a invasion of the wee b£@$%ers all over my bivi bag and inside as well.

Hell's teeth....

Total irrational fear of any spider bigger than a 20p piece. OK with snakes beetles and all sorts of other bugs...just hate spiders. Sorry to say that if Shewie missed with his boot...mine would be following close behind :)
