I can't help wondering but the hand that still works properly, is that your writing hand? I mean, I'm right-handed and I know if I injured that hand I'd have the devils own job cleaning my teeth let alone carving something with my left hand.

Heal fast Lady.

It seems that everyone has a "smart" hand and a "dumb" hand.
The "dumb" hand is the one that always gets in the road of knives, hammers,
car doors, hatchets and anything else the "smart" hand is aiming its' way.
Smart hand is usually an overconfident bully, nowhere near as smart as
it thinks it is.
Years of working with a "not so smart" hand has taught me that my dumb
hand has waaaaaay too many nerve endings!

I hope the healing goes well

Oh yeah, very nice job on the spoon btw.

Pretty good...

...For a girl! :D

Sorry, my chauvinistic side showing again. Loved to see a movie with somebody whittling with one hand and two feet. Chimpanzee that as karl pilkington would have said. Rather impressed that you actually followed thru after have come up with the idea. If I would thought of whittling using my feet I would probably just have used chop sticks, or slurped it up from a cup.

Biker

Bushcrafter (boy, I've got a lot to say!)

I think you've hit on something there, pun not intended.

I'll have to test your theory about the dumb hand having more nerve endings than the smart one. Any volunteers please PM me. What? D'ya think I'm stupid enough to test it on myself?!!! Masochists prefered of course. High pain threshold not a requirement, opposite in fact.

Nice spoon TJRoots I'm not even going to attempt a one-handed spoon because I can already imagine that carving chisel burying itself into one of my "dumb" feet.

Hope both you and Night Phoenix heal fast.
