kingfisher! anyone who has ever seen one of these will know just how bloody fast they are,usually you realise just what it is after its gone,well today i was visiting an old mate of mine and we spotted this one almost hovering in the wind,in its beak a small fish.

Nice Photo. I get to see quite a lot of them, close up, stalking up rivers. Very fast and flighty. I saw one divebombing and taunting a mink a few months back..

Thats superb Fish, i quite often see them up the lakes, but have never managed to get a photo, not even a blue dot

They are so lovely. I've got one sitting next to me right now! sadly one flew into our window about 7 years ago. It was tragic seeing such a beautiful bird die. Instead of just wasting it we got it stuffed and put in a glass cabinet.

Excellent! All the times I have been out with my camera all I ever got was a flash of blue & orange going by at speed (and that wasnt often). I was never quick enough for a photo. Well done !
