Is this an easy thing to do? Just thinking as to reproof silnylon, you just use silicone in the tube diluted with a solvent, and so to proof it originally I imagine it is just the same.
The reasons I ask are that silnylon is hard to obtain, whereas regular and ripstop nylon is easy to get in all weights, and about 1/3 the cost.
