It has been captured, safely and unharmed.
Apparently they are looking for a mate for him.
That explains why he fled, he got "in the mood"!

The human traps worked in the end, they captured it earlier about a quarter of a mile from the zoo.
The zoo keeper is trying to arrange a female partner for it now to keep it company... but the lynx is said to be a bit grumpy. After a few weeks on the run and the freedom of wandering about, I'd be a bit grumpy to be locked back in a cage

they need to find him a lady pronto!
