I would be very greatful if someone could list all the important trees in the UK, and perhaps a link to some info on them.

I understand it is quite a tall order, but I feel it could be of benifit to many more than just me.

All trees are important Gary, some more SO some less but all have there place.

there's a fair amount of them, but hey.
 
I recently picked up a copy of Collins "Trees of Britain & Europe" by G Aas and A Riedmiller together with "Food for Free" by Richard Mabey, both great books and can be carried in the field, wish I'd bought them years ago. The tree guide isn't the most extensive list available but it covers enough trees for my needs (over 300). Both books available in tiny, medium and table sizes and highly recomended.
