I would go for an INOVA T4 it is not cheap but well worth the money a truly excellent torch and it should fit in your pocket!

Thanks Silverback,

Looks like a good piece of kit - although I'm not convinced that the rechargable option is the way to go.

If I was going to spend that type of money on a tourh I'd prolly go for the Gladius http://www.nightgear.co.uk/p/455/Night_Ops_Gladius

Still at that type of money I'd prefer to carry my maglite

Good point - the rechargeable is probably not the way to go for bushcraft applications given the 2 hour working life. I use mine for picking up when lamping and the charger is vehicle mounted so not really a problem. Whilst on the subject of illumination I have the Tikka XP headtorch which is excellent and definitely a bushcraft must have (reviewed in issue 1 of BC mag)

Phil - have you seen this I just posted for Leon?

Of course, a lot of it depends on what you want it for and what batteries you want to use.

Thanks Stew,

Looks like a LED upgrade for my 4xD cell maglite is gonna be around a tenner - prolly be better off putting the money into a new torch in the future.

In the mean time I'll just have to cope with the extra weight of the maglite :(
