Interruption link

From time to time I see a green link in the middle of peoples posts

“Pardon our Interruption”

I have clicked once to find myself on some totally unrelated web page.

Is this intentional?
A site bug?
Or a bug in my iPhone ? (Running Safari)

Must be a bug, I just linked to an eBay page for a knife throwing book and it did it.

The link takes me to the eBay page and reads as an eBay link. I’ve added a pic to the page it takes me.

Yes. Not sure where it takes you but it takes me to the eBay seller. Odd, I’ll ping it up for admin.

Yeh I noticed this too with an ebay link I posted.

I wrote my forum post from a laptop, and the url I used was as short as possible (or tracking rubbish).

Get rid of the unfurl=true bit, just have URL inside [ ] brackets. Its up to the poster, but that is the bit of code that puts "Pardon the interruption" in as text instead of just showing the link.

It’s not sending you to unrelated stuff then? As long as it’s not, and it’s just a strange way to label an eBay link then all’s well.

I think it’s just a bit of eBay cleverness. I’ve seen it on a post I did too.

That makes sense as a marketing tool, a lot of people prefer not shop on eBay and won’t bother to open a product link.
