how to make a primitive arrow...slideshow

Nice arrow, michbowguy! Do you also have the bow that goes with it? And do you knap the points yourself too?
Do I get the sequence right? 1st, split the shaft, then bind it, then push the small wedge in, that forces open the nock, does the wedge stay in there to keep the nock open? Interesting way to do it, that gives something to hold the arrow if you don't use the Mediterranean hold.

yes, i make bows,arrows,tools,knapp,atlatl..the hole bit.
im not ndn.
but i like to build primitive usefull "stuff"..fun "stuff"!
mediterranean hold is one above and two below....correct?
and some use all three under, or one above and two under,and some use a pinch hold,wich i hear that is realy the only way to shoot the truly short ndn style bows.
i have some more pics on a site i was working on.. but its hunting season now so im in the woods more than in my garage.

impressive stuff Michbowguy Had a go myself a few times making survival bows and arrows using unseasoned green timber Wyich elm and Ash seem to work ok
