I tried the gravel and sand filter but I forgot to clean them both first! So the water was just gunk from both. Didn't want to redo so I just left it and refilled now and then. I figure eventually it should filter off the smaller stuff by itself and come clear sooner or later.
With the dammed water when I place my container to fill it, after a couple of times, it disturbs the clay/mud underneath so further scoops become more murky with each one. Does putting gravel on the bed of the stream stop that from happening?
