That is, officially the coolest smock material ever.

Thats a really talented combination of women in your life!

Cheers guys

As far as I know Red, similar material can be bought from the Harris Tweed factory on the Isle of Lewis. They used to have a small shop that sold different types of tweed in a range of sizes.

There does not seem to be an online shop but I am sure something could be arranged if you contacted them.

The lining Woof, is a soft cotton material that is lined throughout, what it is I will have to ask Alison.

Cheers

Used to have a harris tweed jacket as part of my school uniform. Kept me warm and dry (despite the shorts!). Only downside is it makes you smell like a wet dog when you get wet!

Found a vgc harris tweed(green check) in a 44, 3 leather button fastening. Its to small for me, if its of use to anyone, let me know and i'll pop down, if its still there its yours at cost(£8) + postage.

Seen this in the Scot's Magazine http://www.buttoflewistextiles.co.uk/products.html

Great looking smock George, when are you taking orders? lol

I am afraid when I mentioned the subject of taking orders to Alison she kind of growled at me. I dont think she liked working with tweed

Thanks for the link though. Callum MacLean is a neighbour of my sister. In fact he helped build her loom when she first started.

He has been weaving for years and he has the old type loom (as in the website) and the new larger modern loom

My sister thinks that the tweed he has on sale is from the old loom. She said this would make it a thicker tweed than the material that is produced on the modern looms. I would imagine that would make it longer lasting but maybe a bit rougher.

As to the price she said it looks pretty standard.

He is a good weaver and a nice bloke to chat to so if you are interested in some tweed give him a call.

Cheers

George
