Looking through the kitchen cupboards, I came across some gram flour. Never having used this stuff before (Claire does the shopping) I decided to investigate a bit and came to find that because it is made from chickpeas, compared to standard flour it's higher in fat, protein, carbs, fibre and salt. So with this in mind I had a bash at making a flat bread and it turned out preety good
I used the following, made up as I went along
100 g chickpea flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp olive oil
Enough water to make a soft but not sticky dough
Knead till thoroughly combined, flatten to about 1/8 inch thick and grill on medium till golden brown on both sides.
I am going to try cooking on a flat stone by the fire at next available opportunity
Tasty and very bread like if anyone else tries this, tell us results and opinions cheers JD
