Hi Andy
Thanks for your input!!
I saw your setup at Middlewood. It looked very organised and workable!
What I didn't see or recognise was your DD Travel Hammock, with midge net raised and, your under blanket in sleep mode.
The combination looks good and, in that case I am definitely interested in buying an underblanket.

I think whatever you use between the layers will be compressed and lose much of it's insulation, rollmats and thermarests excepted. Though, I have used my wool bushshirt and found that was quite warm. There have been a number of threads discussing hammock insulation/underblanket use and the consensus seems to be that it's the best solution, but not the only one. The only way to know is to give it a go and tell us how you get on, though I think you'll get better mileage from trying to attach the liner outside the hammock in the style of an underblanket.

Herts.
I emailed Woodland Edge on the subject of hammock underquilts, to find out if theres any discount offered for a bulk purchase. It's £70 otherwise and that's just too much for me.

I'd be keen to find out if the poncho liner thing works out, it'd be considerably cheaper. I found a link somewhere to an american guy who'd done just that, he recommended a particular type of liner although I can't remember the details...I'll have a look.

Found it, here it is Sandbag...

Why are you all so enthousiastic about those hammocks being shipped?

I'm affraid of getting sea-sick in the hammock when I test it out in these winds..

Better look for big trees, otherwise with the tarp over it it'll be something like kite-camping.

How 'bout a group buy for nice weather:rolleyes:
