Some pics from the 3,5 hour ski trip I made yesterday.
The temp was -30C and a bitterly cold northern wind blew over the lake at our house, so I hurried over it.
In the woods the wind wasnt as bad, so I could ski bare handed long periods, bamboo staves are very good in that they doesnt chill your hands like metal or glass fibre ones do.
My trusty wooden skis, 9 Tegsnäs, glides almost silently through the freshly fallen snow in my old tracks.
The roe deers are having it very difficult with all the snow and cold. At this place where the spruces grow the snow is thinner so they can dig for food.
At open areas the snow is now almost 3 feet deep.
Hare tracks cross a small marsh.
The fox has been out and crossed another open area.
Other than that I saw rain deer, moose and ptarmigan tracks. The only living thing I saw was a wood pecker and I heard some tits singing.
The sun is setting and everything starts to turn blue.
An old abandonded moose lookout stands alone, freezing in the evening.
The clock is 1500hrs and the sun is setting.
One last shot, taken earlier when the light was good. Lots of frost but I was warm and toasty the whole trip.
