Oh dear, another species fundamentalist (as we call them in the trade - those who wish to protect their favourite species by annihilating others).

The reason Capercaillie have declined is because of the decline in old forest instigated by, guess who,... people. As usual, instead of dealing with the real problem (habitat reduction and degradation), these fundamentalists find it easier to blame something else. Culling people, well now that would be getting to the bottom of the problem...
