There is no such thing as climate change, its the government spraying us with con..(I love that she used that word!) trails from airplanes that's causing it. All that you need to do is contact the companies and tell them to stop if you are worried.

Duh??????????:thumbsdown::banghead2:

Welcome to the cult.
I know you were already in it.

The chemtrails one has been around for a while. Made popular by Alex Jones. After him came Qanon, then the Plandemic & all the psuedo Dr's, then Crisis Actors, the the anti immigration "Replacement Theory". All these theories are linked to climate denial and the politics of the unspeakable.

There are coalitions of activists including Anonymous tracking the digital fingerprints of these groups and theories. Note that they all clearly serve the indmterests of the fossil fuel industry.

What are you making with the blackberries?

It's funny when people talking rot call into question " your mental health." As if they are the sane one.
I get that all the time from my narcissistic next door neighbour....he's actualy the one with mental health problems. It's a diversionary tactic designed to put you off balance and change the subject and get you wound up,so that they can then accuse you of being the problem, and make themselves feel superior, when they know they are on a looser!

Not that I'm saying that is the problem with the kind person here, who is concerned for your mental health.
But I instantly see the tactic when this phrase is used by anyone at all from long experience!!

Oh, lots! Jelly, I have enough jam for now, blackberry and apple chutney, fruit leather, crumble, freezer stocking... pie fillings, may try Mary's oats and blackberry concoction too. She always has the best recipes!

And the burning man festival, normaly held in the heat of the dessert is presently a gigantic mud bath and swimming pool, with thousands of people unable to get in or out, totaly stranded miles and miles from civilisation , having to ration food and water, in the middle of the dessert.

Keep walking, nothing to see here, perfectly normal occurrence.

We are now living in run away climate change.

There is a thing called climate grief. Its a process. Like grief when you lose someone you love. Climate grief is the process of accepting that we are in a fight for our lives. Accepting our situation is a large part of understanding our predicament. That why I don't need anti depressants.

I have to say I am always tickled by the fact that a teenager in a red raincoat triggers old men. Or the mere mention of the Climate Emergency triggers hooting and aggression towards the OP, who asked a genuine question. I'm presuming everyone who was behaving like that was over 14?.

Bushcraft & Survival skills while denying an existential threat. Even the most basic understanding of the combination of heat (degrees C or F) & humidity (%) combined not featuring anywhere on this entire site? Forgive me if I am wrong?

Deserts do that; they have wet years and they bloom. It's a normal part of the cycle.
It poured down inches of rain in 2014, but that's old news, isn't it ? and not screaming banner headlines of mud and people 'trapped'.

All quite normal then, as I said, nothing to see here, keep walking...or should that be swimming? :)

True, violence solves nothing, but often climate denyers don't want to talk it out sensibly, just shout abuse and use their fists.
Very inspiring, and giving me great hope for the future...where the blazes is that tongue in cheek emoji?????

Has anyone watched Chris Packham's the Earth series? I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts on it. I really enjoyed it, although I found the episodes a little disjointed. But it puts into perspective just how little time humans have occupied earth. I'm not sure that the argument that we've successfully adapted to climate changes throughout our existence is much of a reassurance. We are a mere blip in time scale of our plant and the changes it has endured.

The tongue in cheek smiley is hiding behind the drop down menu behind the three wee vertical dots at the right hand side of the middle icons at the top of your message.

I think there are three kinds of opinions in a two way argument.
Those who want to hype it up, those who deny it at all, and those who will look for solutions not problems.
We will never please everybody.

I'm reposting a joke blatantly stolen from another site :)

To change things up a bit...ulez, to make air quality better, but if you pay £12.50 entitlement every time you enter the zone, you can still pollute the air using your non compliant vehicle, with impunity.
If you don't pay it they will fine you thousands.
Climate pollution measure, or money grab for the government's empty coffers. ?

Yet, go to Heathrow and smell the stink of aviation fuel in the air, you can't pollute the air with your car, but its OK for an airplane to pollute 100 times more, no fines.

Air pollution on the tube is worse than up top, (proven with air quality measurements.) Why are people not fined for using the tube?

Just throwing that into the mix .
It's all relevant after all.

Now if the climate end is inevitable why should I change any of my habits? And as long as China and India exist in their present form nothing I could do would change anything.

I minimize my fuel use because I don't want to pay the *** any more than just necessary, not to compensate for China.

So I definitely need better reasons from somebody if she wants me to change my habits.

The fact remains that burning geological hydrocarbons- oil, gas & coal is where the CO2 which is changing the climate has come from. Gigatons of CO2. So much that trhing to recapturebit would breaknthe laws of physics.

The air on the under ground is poor for 2 reasons it is sucked down from the polluted streets and there are a lot of aerosoled lubricants in those tunnels.

And you know that the greatest conspiracy about the climate emergency is that the oil companies, Exxon especially not only knew that burningnoil would cause global warming, their scientists predicted it and were remarkably accurate. But the company buried the data & told lies about the science to create a distraction while they made billions.

Humans are now in a difficult redicament. There aren't enough resources to transform capitalism to a new resource to drive its economy. The current economy is oil dependent. Our severely depleted biosphere could barely support 500 million people living by foraging/ agriculture without fossil fuels. And the population is nearly 8bn.

In the immediate future we face a population collapse.

Anthropogenic global warming & climate change is accelerating & worsening. The UK has experienced these disasters recently, & so has the rest of Europe. Here in Australia we are experiencing unprecedented floods. Science predicts that society could collapse within the next 20 years, & todays youth may not survive climate change. This is a climate emergency, & yet life for most people goes on as if nothing is happening.

Are any of you preparing for the coming disasters? What are your preparations?
Keith.
