Does anyone know what happened to Chris Caine?

I was going through my yt subs and noticed he hadn't been about for a few years.

No idea. I was asking someone at Truways this just a week or so ago.

I last saw him about five years ago at an outdoors show. After leaving Trueways he set up another survival training company - not sure if he's still doing it.

He moved over to the US for a while and had something going on with Dave Canterbury, a US company were manufacturing his knives also at that time. That’s the last I heard of him.

He made good knives. I met him at the Wilderness Gathering once years ago.

A complex character

He spent years living rough in the Scottish wilds providing a 'guide' service. He worked with Lofty Wiseman to set up what became Trueways (a course provider) but had issues with new management, set up another group, designed and marketed his 'survival' knives, then, to all intents and purposes, has disappeared.

Chris has been a buddy of mine for the last 15 years. I spoke with him roughly 6 months ago. He is a hard man to get ahold of - he more gets ahold of you. I do know he has a new partner and she is not fond of him spending any time on the computer, so I rarely get to speak with him anymore. I don't believe he was doing survival training any longer though. If anyone has a message for him, I can let him know when he contacts me again.
