I saw the other thread about the meeting on the 19/20th April. I have the time off from work, permission from the missus and would do the 19th for sure but no gear so I would probably have to give it a miss, hence not posting on that thread.

When you say no gear what exactly do you mean since we are only taking Tarps, sleeping bag ground sheet and warm clothes. I'm sure we could get enough kit between us if you want to come either that or just join us for the day?

Well I've got an old british army sleeping bag(but still in good nick) from my cadet days many moons ago. No Tarp or ground sheet - you'd think that being registered on the site since 2010, I'd have more stuff, but I'm quite a bit of a newbie! I have been meaning to get a tarp for ages, the only question is what size to plump for. I would happily come along for the day if it doesn't diddle someone else out of that 10th spot for the weekend as it would be unfair on others if it did. I wouldn't want subject the rest to my snoring!!

Ha, don't worry about that!!

Ref the tarp, can't go wrong with a DD 3x3 to start with. Any old piece of tarp will do for a ground sheet (do you really need a groundsheet?) and the sleeping bag will be fine. Just shufty closer to the fire if you get cold.

hi
just to say about the pinsent camping, i'm a scout and have been there quite recently, they no longer allow ground fires anywhere, but only in specific firelighting areas.

You may have just twisted my arm! Hopefully the service will sort my poorly car out as it's literally not firing on all cylinders at the moment! I just have to double-check that I've got the right annual-leave week, if I have then my name will be on that list and DD will have a order.....

Actually the name is from Agaricus arvensis, an edible fungus as I wanted a username relating to one of my interests. Just replying to PM now.
