I've just received and skim read through Mors Kochanski's book "Bush Craft Outdoor Skills and Wilderness Survival" ISBN 978-1-55105-122-2 in paperback bought off The Book Depository through Amazon @ £6.60 and £2.75 postage.
It is packed throughout with detailed line drawings explaining skills clearly. There are 12 chapters covering including Firecraft; Axecraft; Knifecraft; Sawcraft; and Bindcraft as well as chapters on tree type uses.
At the end are several pages of colour photographs.
I fully intended on having only a quick flick through but found the skills/information fascinating and so
have sat for a couple of hours reading the first three chapters.
I have identified several skills which will benefit me mainly in improving my self taught knife and axe use!
His advice on various fire lays and on shelter building will also be useful to me and I look forward to testing them out during the coming year.
My verdict so far:
Relevance to the UK 9/10
Information 10/10
Presentation of skills/info 10/10
Value for money 10/10
Regards Alan
