Sad indeed I'm thinking of his loved ones too.

Tragic indeed. It appears that they lost their tent in a severe snowstorm, and all three suffered from exposure overnight, one fatally. Presumably in those conditions there was no way of making snow-shelters etc - maybe sheltering behind their pulks?

I wonder whether they had emergency heat-reflecting bivis, or maybe Jervens bags?
