My wife found for £20 a Berghaus Cyclops Roc , inside was set of waterproofs we gave them to someone for D.O,E. , A two man tent that the kids played with in the garden for a couple of summers, a vango 4 season sleeping bag that i used for about 5 years till the zip went .

After 10 years the Roc is still going strong and should be about for some time yet .

you lot have cheaper charity shops than in north somerset! its cheaper to buy a supermarket fair trade t shirt than a t shirt from a chsriity shop here.

im guessing car boot sales would be a better bet, if i knew any local to me.

I'm lucky in that my missus is the assistant manager of an Age UK shop and she's always bringing me good stuff home. Although this does mean that it has to go through her filter of what I "need" :)
Off my own bat though I have managed to find a couple of pairs of Montane softshell trousers for £3 and a pair of Berghaus Baltoro mountain boots (were £200 new back in the day) for £3

I just picked up a 2xAAA Maglite-a-like for 99p
I thought at first it was just one of those cheap flimsy things that Poundland sell, but this is quite sturdy, has o-ring seals, and when I looked inside has a couple of AAA NiMH rechargeables :)
