Anyone here like tinned salmon? For me it’s the only one that doesn’t work. Never really liked it for some reason, and unless I’ve missed it nobody has mentioned it yet…

Its a way to make the dratted things edible. Stinky fish.

I dont like fishy fish, but tinned is less fishy...and cheap.

Even Blackie who is not a fish eater; we share our fish and chips with him and he might eat a bit, but more often turns his nose up at it.

Some cats will have your hand off for fish.

But he likes tinned sardines, even with tomato sauce.

I wonder what evolutionary track linked cats with an aquatic prey :lmao:

I vastly prefer fresh fish to tinned. I could be happy if that was my only “meat”. I think it’s called pescatarianism. I hope Morrisons keep up their fresh fish counter (it’s shrinking)

However, loading a rucksack with a couple of trout isn’t straight forward so it’s got to be in a tin or a vacuum pack.

(I have fished but it’s not my thing.)

No, no, no....utterly gross horrible stuff.

Fish is not food, it's vile stinking stuff and you are all weird !

Boiled cabbage and sewage has nothing on the smell of fish.

How anyone ever looked at that shiny big eyed thing in the water and wondered how it tasted, escapes me. :shudder:

I wouldn't even feed it to the cat.

I can’t imagine you’re going to enjoy the photo I put up of the tinned whelks I bought once I crack them open.

I know all the horror stories but I like having a pack of sea food sticks in the fridge.
I will take one like a chocolate or fry a few to eat with my own bread and olive oil.

It is about the only heavily processed food that I eat.

I know where it comes from and I’ve heard the legends but hey - in the words of Papillon, “Look at me you bustards, I’m still here!”

They’re (well, similar are) fairly popular in Japan, which famously has some of the best seafood dishes available.

I quite like fishsticks - probably the seafood equivalent of hotdog meat ( ok , maybe not that bad... ) surimi can be upcycled with a little imagination.

Chop it up and slightly saute it in enough garlic to make a french man blush and a sea of melted butter , throw in some chives , little cayenne, dollop of mayo - fill a baguette high and full with the stuff and imagine its a Lobster roll but without the financial burden.

You used a plate ?!
Why not break out the silver ware to match ,??

Eating out of the Tin not good enough for you , you northern dandy ?!!!

Seriously - well done , I guess I'm off shopping then
Well, we can't add gravy to a full tin now can we :D :p

I enjoy the Tinned fish reviews channel, and that's what he does...'let us decant the tin'

Update... No dodgy stomach today. Everything's gravy baby. :encourage:

Surimi, oddly, is a favourite of mine.
