iam looking out for a heavy duty wood choping/camp knife not to botherd about the style i did have my eye on the smith and wesson bush hog but not so sure now . any one no of any good bigish style camp knifes on the uk market, not looking to spend to much:nono:

Another for the MOD survival knife, I've had an original issue one since i was 12, still going strong!

I've used it for hardwood log splitting (didnt own an axe at time) and its done the job, around £25 these days.

TBL.

Billhooks rock. Also they are potentially more 'non-knifey-people-friendly' than a big knife, considering they are an ancient farming tool. Buy a British one and help keep manufacturing going.

I use a Bill hook and since getting it my other big knives hardly get a look in for trimming and splitting small wood - mind you it is a lot heavier than my Leuko (sp?), about the same as my Martindale Golok and my GFB Hand Hatchet, all of which still get a fair bit of use for other tasks....
