any one no of a good wood choping knife

iam looking out for a heavy duty wood choping/camp knife not to botherd about the style i did have my eye on the smith and wesson bush hog but not so sure now . any one no of any good bigish style camp knifes on the uk market,not looking to spend to much

Another for the MOD survival knife, I've had an original issue one since i was 12, still going strong!

I've used it for hardwood log splitting (didnt own an axe at time) and its done the job, around £25 these days.

Billhooks rock. Also they are potentially more 'non-knifey-people-friendly' than a big knife, considering they are an ancient farming tool. Buy a British one and help keep manufacturing going.

I like bill hooks as well, that's what we use for firewood and general stuff

I use a Bill hook and since getting it my other big knives hardly get a look in for trimming and splitting small wood - mind you it is a lot heavier than my Leuko (sp?), about the same as my Martindale Golok and my GFB Hand Hatchet, all of which still get a fair bit of use for other tasks....
