Couldn't believe how many hover flies were "Queueing" for the poppies this morning

Plenty of small whites scrapping over the lavender too

We even have night flying

We are investing a lot of time making the garden attractive to insects, birds and wildlife and, whilst its baby steps yet, its lovely to see these small successes

Hi Red. I count 8 hoverflies, all Episyrphus balteatus.

Actually I'm assuming you know this, since you seem to know your wildlife from other threads of yours, but I couldn't resist showing off
