persoally I would buy a lightweight synthetic,

vango ultralight

mountain hardware lamina

they are more expensive but worth it.

Gelert do a cheaper lightweight one. But remember how tall you are when purchacing.

Unless you're in a position to care for a feather down bag, ie nice big tent etc you will rot the feathers quickly. Millets had a euro hike one going cheap a while ago.

Edit:

just had a thought, snugpak do some nice lightweight ones I think they're the "Softy" range.

If you try ebay you may get one of the above cheap

Neil1 bought a Highlander Phantom a couple of years ago, it was suggested to him by Kev at Endicott's. I know that he's been very impressed by it and carries it more than he carries his ME TDS. He actually says that the phantom is a better bag than the TDS in many aspects and that's not taking into account the cost, once the cost is taken into account it's a no brainer.
