Made these recently after a bit of a hiatus from knifemaking.

This one is from some high carbon scrap steel that I've had for awhile but never really tested. It performed admirably. In heat treatment it took a natural "hamon" at the transition of critical temperature. The tang goes all the way through the handle and is peened over a piece of copper. Handle is some unknown tropical hardwood salvaged from some old furniture. I skinned and butchered a goat with it, hacking through bones, and it still smoothly cut paper afterward. I plan to make more knives with this steel.

This second one is just a quick little utility knife.

love it, love it, love it.

Some proper knifemaking there mate. When i get my forge set up again im thinking of making me a kinda spring fuller that is specially made for integrals. Got me an old car suspension spring ready for the job

Thanks for the positive feedback!

Shinken, I've used a spring fuller, but lately just the hammer. Hope to see your integral soon.

The goat was delicious....
