What different woods do you consider useful for making a bow drill set? What have you used? what worked/didn't work? I looked on the forum and whilst there is a tremendous amount of knowledgeable postings they are scattered. I could not find a thread specifically discussing just this one aspect...
What did you find, forage and use from nature today.
I found and ate wood sorrel, penny/navel wort and 3 cornered leek. I also found but didnt eat lesser celandine and primroses. And I tapped a birch tree using a new method I've not tried whereby a branch is tapped and not the trunk. x

35lb take down re curve bow. New limbs. 3 x spare strings, 10 plus stick on arrow rests, a sight pin, some nocks and 2 x arrows. £50 plus p%p. It has been a really good bow for me. It did have 50lb limbs but I recently replaced these with something easier to learn with.e
Has anyone got any top tips or tricks? Something ingenious or useful but most of all simple. This is my peg less washing line made by doubling a line and twisting it. I put my dirty washing out and leave it for the rain to sort out. There is no shortage of rain here in Ireland.
