Can someone tell me the difference between quote and reply on posts please. I never know which one to press to ensure it is seen. Thanks, xxx

If you click 'QUOTE' and then REPLY you will get the person you are quoting Text in the same box that you can free type and reply too.

I tend to use quote when other posts have arrived since the one I’m replying to. It can look odd when your reply has something unrelated just above it.
I also might quote if my reply has gone onto the next page from the post I’m replying to.

But - yes I totally agree, use reply as a default.
