Full length waterproof zip.
Waterproof zips on all pockets
Quotes from the product description.

The flaws with the jacket that i see are the exposed zips that will not always be waterproof so something like a baffle in front of the zips would have been a good idea . If i'm wrong then i'm wrong . So am i wrong or not please be honest .

I'm afraid you're wrong.
I confess I too was concerned about the zips when I saw the prototype, However, the zips are the same ones that are used on dry bags for sailing / open canoeing and on survival suits for the North Sea. They don't need a baffle, and for the types of activities we do they're better off without one since there's nothing to snag on brush and the like, no velcro to get gunked up, or keep wet, or studs to leak either :)

Subsequent use has proven the zips to be utterly reliable.

cheers,
Toddy

Thank you Dan,
I make a lot of kit, and quite bit in Ventile (I have been using the stuff for nearly 20 years - sounds like an AA introduction!!)
I'm no fan of "water-proof" zips, that said I have'nt had one that long to see if they fail and at what point they fail, I can only go by the feed back I have heard and so far its good.
Have you got one of the jackets?
How long have you had it?
I guess looking at your profile it must be seeing fairly constant use?
How did you find it worked in Scotland and Snowdonia?
Neil

Yeah, I was a little concerned about the zips at first, but subsequent use has proven them to be reliable (so far, at least).

Just so we're all on the same page, I believe the OP is referring to this thread...

Thank you!

The opening post makes no sense whatsoever, your link clarified the issue.

I have now read the irrational, unfounded statements addressed to the forum by the person whom initiated the thread, which appear to entirely contradict their claimed professionalism in a worldwide military context.

I knew a former REME guy that used to say "When in danger or in doubt, run around and scream and shout".

I actually believed that he was joking!

Woodstock and bikething,

Firecrest has made far more sense in his post (even if it may have been posted on the wrong thread) than the opening post!

This isn't another of those threads thats been made by splitting another thread , and an admin hastily giving it a title is it?
