I'm interested in what magazines you all read related to bushcraf/outdoors type stuff?
My local newsagent doesn't really have anything but said he'd get something in if I requested it so which do you enjoy?

there aren't that many to choose from really.
To be honest, there's nothing I can't get from this site that I could get in a magazine.
however, I occasionally pick up a bushcraft magazine in Borders

"Bushcraft"
I gave up on B&S as it is full of BS IMHO......pity as it started well but now just seems to be all style and little substance though young Georges column and a couple of others are good. Not worth the dosh though IMHO.
Role on the return of the BCUK mag!

I agree with Graham, the articles, reviews and tutorials here are as good as the magazines ive seen. You only have to ask to get an answer!
I used to buy hill and Bushcraft mags for the skills sections but found that for me in the long run books are better.
I do read magazines now and again when travelling and quite like The Scottish Mountaineer and Trail.

I used to write for TGO, Trail and Country Walking (LONG time ago now...)
I still write for several but the only ones I would think of as Bushy/outdoors are Sporting Shooter and Walking Wales - which are both good reads as well despite my input....Sporting Shooter has a Bushcraft column as well as game recipes (and my gear column:rolleyes: ) while WW has some great routes in it (and my gear column:rolleyes: )

I read Dalesman and Backpack, the latter being the journal of The Backpackers Club. I also used to read TGO but, the scope of this site is so vast that it outstrips any of the other magazines. I too will be glad to see the return of Bushcraft magazine!
So when is soon Tony?

I subscribe to all three of them.

Bushcraft & Survival Skills:D
Bushcraft-magazine:240:
and BcUK (when is is back Tony?):dunno:

I used to get MBR, Trail & TGO too, but they have lapsed and I dont intend to renew.:o

I offten pick up a copy of Sporting Shooter too, what can I say, I love reading, Magazines and books. I have all Rays books, Nessmuk's, Kepharts, Mors's and many many others.:22:

Nothing better than chilling in the hammock with a good read and lets face it although you probably could I dont want internet access in my woods thanks.:nono:

If all of the tutorials posted by folk on this site were compiled into a book, I reckon you'd need a few years to try everything out and a very strong book case! The mountain of knowledge on here is beyond what any magazine could compile, and thankfully without the bloody adverts most of the time!

:D

trail / tgo mostly for the pics and ideas of where to go. also get summit from the BMC which can be interesting and get given copies of C&S from forces mates once they've finished with them. Also outdoor photographer / landscape photographer / digital camera magazine for those bored moments in work, actually find myself spending more time in those than the others; usually have lots of pics of nice outdoorsy places to visit as well as ideas on how to take pics better myself
