A new pair of boots, my Altbergs are approaching the end, bloody good boots they’ve been, got a lot of miles on them and lasted me well. I’ll keep em and turn them into a plant pot or something
However i got myself a pair ( my first Danners ) of brand new unissued Danner USMC RAT Rugged All Terrain Temperate Combat Boots 15660X, phew bit of designation that or what
So far so good, very comfortable and VERY well built, quality of manufacture appears 1st rate. I did a bit of search reach afore going for them and it is as others have said they do come up a bit small, so if anyone else decides to go for a pair you need to go up in size . Normally i am somewhere depending on boot manufacturer a 10.5W and 11W so I went for an 11.5W in these RATS and they fit perfectly. So far so good, will they see me right as well as the old Defenders time will tell.
Oh and i got em for an outstandingly good price, very happy about that too smile

Well here are three of the backpacks I bought. Bought as a bundle sale for not a lot of money. An Alpiniste 45, Alpiniste 65 and a Hot Ice. All from early to mid 90's and in great condition.

Now you can rescue three mountains at the same time...

:lmao:

Hot Ice looks fire...still not found one...must try harder!
They are out there, although the Hot Ice seem to fetch good money, I prefer the slightly larger Hot Earth, mainly because it's a bit longer in the back. The Alpiniste 45 here has my favourite version of the Karrimor logo. It also has an Aergo back. It might be my new favourite day pack although I think the Hot Earth is really hard to bead as a day pack.
