The Steam Tent Corner at the Bushmoot 2025

We will be doing our thing again this year and lighting it up in the evening of course. We will also be offering an informal "Bring Your Own Craft Space" where you can join other crafty people for company while you do your own thing too.

We should have shelter from the weather, Rain or Shine, and some seating. ( It might be a good idea to bring something to sit on just in case. )

At some point I will be running a Kolrosing workshop and a Rope Splicing workshop but timings will be up to Tony on those.

I would have loved to be able to get there just for that, but circumstances don't allow for it.

I spoke to the guy that did it. I can't remember his name, nice Dutch chap.
He used burnt cinnamon for the outline, and normal for the fill. So it's not burnt in as far as I know. I didn't ask how he etched the lines. But he's also a tattooist so who knows. .
Whatever method he used I think it's an incredible piece of work.

It is stunning, and with your clarification, does look like it was done with a tattoo machine. It literally looks like a tattoo, but on wood.

The Barou lamps are the epitomy of steampunk to my mind, fire to electricity via brass devices with needle gauges. He has 3 in the collection, tried to get a Kickstarter up and running a few years ago but failed.

A tattoo machine would make sense. It was the dotty nature of the lines that confused me.
