I can just hear the theme tune now#

Oh, when your belly is all empty and food is a must

You need something quick with a minimum fuss

Don't reach for the Quorn, cus I would rather eat rust

Only a Burger will do, so lets make one from dust!

In process, I have decided to put some Garlic in there too

Done, one pan Tatanka kettle. I used the lid so possibly cheating on the one pan claim. I put some basil in the rice too.

Tesco own brand, produce of serbia but the package says the only ingredient is textured soya protein and also claims it has "minimal processing"

I think the veggie and or vegan recipe thread is a great idea ...
There was on here a while back but it got lost ?

The " menu" gets a bit repetitive after a while...As you stick to the "winners", if you know what i mean , especially on a tight budget.

The Quorn mince is not too bad actually, the fact that is tasteless is good IMO , so it doesn't ruin your sauce.
I've made all sorts with the Quorn mince, and used it in various dishes .
I add the mycoprotein when the sauce is ready , then all the flavours have formed and so i don't rely on the taste of the protein as such , but use it to bulk .
I've always relied on the taste of the meat juice with the stock cube , so it was interesting to start your sauce from a different angle.
Thank god for garlic and onions .... ;)
It will be interesting to see how the kids like the TVP ...

We all eat less meat these days , and i don't feel any worse for it.

I'm actually enjoying the experimental cooking business with all the different pulses and lentils.

The cowboy beans and dust burgers will be well received by both the veggie and his little carnivorous sister ...

So thank you!

I would not add Birds Eye Chili. Use chopped up Habanero and leave it in. Adds not only heat and flavour, but vitamins and minerals.

If you eat a Vegan I would use something hotter than a Habanero, like a mature Scotch Bonnett as they are somewhat bland and tasteless.

You guys tried Tempeh?
Love Quorn too.

Im up for a Vegan and Veggie thread. I will input but am always going to be a dedicated meat eater if only because too many creatures would die and we would lose too much bio diversity if everyone went vegan.

No Joanne. Jan. John.
Red blooded male!
Yes, I look forward to learn new ones. I think it is faaaar more difficult to cook a meat free meal than one with it.
Meat has so much taste that it masks blandness.

To get a tasty soy, tofu, Quorn or chickpea containing meal tasty, I sometimes add browned minced beef. As written, I am on Omni, but try to increase the healthyness, environment friendliness and the ethics of my food.
( I sound crazy, but am not)

Well, I was suitably intrigued so I popped to Tesco and bought some, along with some dry Adzuki beans. They might make an acceptable meal with some soup powder and a packet of quick rice.

I will report my findings.

In process, I have decided to put some Garlic in there too

Done, one pan Tatonka kettle. I used the lid so possibly cheating on the one pan claim. I put some basil in the rice too.

What no Adzukis? No report?!

mmmm that does look tasty, But what was your Verdict on Tesco's finest T.V.P. Tudo?

I didnt have time for the Adzukis that night as I needed get up the next morning.

The TVP was certainly better that quorn. I would be more than happy to eat it while out an about and it would be VERY convenient to carry even for an extended time.

I certainly couldnt swap it out for meat in my day to day as it was more a carrier for flavours rather than an equal partner as meat is.

I have in mind a TVP, dried Mushroom, dried onion trail Risotto.
