has anyone carved from the trunk of a xmas tree yet? or re-used in anyway?

Not yet but i will be giving it a go this weekend,

Iv'e been looking round for discarded ones as I need to build a small fence in my garden. I have weeping willow and a few staves ( from the discarded xmas trees) and shed load of the willow branches should make a cracking wattle fence.. Fingers crossed.

Not this years tree but I carved a spoon out of a bit of last years tree.

Not too bad to carve but quite a few small knots in it.
