Why aren't John and Geri McPherson given more credit?

I don't recommend many books, but their first book is a must for anyone's library. Many "real" skills are taught. When I lost nearly all my library a few years ago, their first book was the first to be replaced. They have a re-edit of their fist book out, it has more pictures, but no reason to replace my present copy.


Their second book is good, but there are buying priorities to consider. I don't need to burn out a log canoe this weekend!

I've recently got the new edition of their first book. It's a good one and really interesting but if I was pushed I'd prefer to take Larry Dean Olsen's Outdoor Survival Skills over it as it is a more inspiring book by nature of the little stories contain therein.
