Opinions please...

Frost Mora from outdoorcode or THIS ONE

End decision of course has to be mine but I sure would like some opinions on the two :) Due to budget I'm pretty restricted in choice if I want to make my own but I like the look of the Lauri 77. The Mora has the advantage of being a well-known and recommended blade with no assembly required.

So, which would you go for and what would your reason be?

I would probably go for the the Lauri.

I have the frosts (the traditional, the model 760 and the clipper), the clipper is probably the best of the three, it has a good grind and the handles isn't bad. The 760 the grind isn't as good and the handle is less comfortable.

The Lauri isn't a bad little knife, I personally prefer the PT versions, but it gives you the option of making something with a handle that will be comfortable for you specifically, the blade is slightly thicker on the lauri as well, they sharpen up very well. The only thing I would say is that the carbon versions have a tendency to rust quite quickly so care is required, but you would have to do this with any high carbon knife.

I'd go with the Lauri if for no other reason than you're learning a new skill by assembling it. You'll get a lot more satisfaction out of using a knife you created yourself and you will be able to shape the handle to fit your own hand perfectly.
