Eggen ?
Alot of knife for not much money, good shape for bushy type stuff IMHO.
Great blades, easy to keep sharp.
Used mine for years ( still do ! ) before the custom bug bit me !
Good luck.
Chris.

Eggen is the one i've lost the only problem i had was it didn't strike my fire steel but not a major issue.

I just posted this before i bought another. The custom blades look great but i need the knife quick so a premade is my option

Not sure why my friend, slightly rounded spine on your old one ?
Mine is still striking well.
Good luck.
Chris.

I`m very pleased with their Folkekniven, even though it is not one of their laminated blades. It takes a ridiculous edge (but then again: all Helle`s do). If I could pick another one from Helle it would be the Harding I think.

I agree, the Harding would be my first choice for a Helle knife.

Temagami
worth every penny and trounces most similar size knives I have tried. The first production run was laminated stainless and now they are onto the carbon run. You might find an online seller with one of the stainless models. The Temagami is one of those rare knives that gets it just right and it really is a joy to use.

Failing that both the Eggen and Harding are great performers; in fact, most of the Helle range are superb working knives but several are quite specialised.

The laminated stainless can be made to throw a spark even with its softer sides by squaring off the spine as others have already noted.

I have quite a few Helle knives and all of them a seriously good working knives.

Unless you feel the need to change from an Eggen I'd be tempted to suggest a like for like replacement so that you hit the ground running and don't have to familiarise yourself with something new.
