just out of interest, i'm wondering where members sig quotes come from - mine is accredited to Hannibal (the Carthaginian military commander, not the cannibal!) - for me it sums up an attitude that we could all use in life!

well obviously I knew that Red:rolleyes::D, but for the benefit of others, what does it mean
"In the darkness of the night came the shadow-walker". The poem is one of the earliest remaining intact works in the language and can be read on many levels. Superficially it covers Beowulf's epic battle with the monster Grendel (and family). There is an allegorical dimension however of the battles between conquered and conquering peoples. I can get very dry on the subject (including the real history of pixies) but that'll probably cover it. Suffice it to say I see myself as more "Grendel" than Beowulf"

My quote is attributed to the Cree Indian tribe in North America. It's something that I find meaningful: it's kind of like the quote, "The love of money is the root of all evil." (The Bible.)

second line from this poem written by JRR Tolkien for lotr, it refer's to my name's sake ;)

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.

My original sig was "... but a caterpillar might have pooed on it" which came from an
animated advert for bread that children would like given that they (in ad land) avoid
lettuce leaves because... a caterpillar might have pooed on it, and so needed to be
eating extra healthy bread to compensate :rolleyes:

The current one reflects life's essentials although some wags have suggested that
Google should be moved further up to the top in my case, and they might be right ;)
