What's your story?

[Lindop_Lad]

Inspired by seeing what Corvus had been up to since he joined BCUK I'm interested in hearing about everyone else's tales. Think it would be interesting to see everyone's life stories.

Theres already a thread about that on here. Ask the moderators. It is called something along the lines of how you came to be on this forum and your background etc. Makes interesting reading. x

Thread 'What do you lot do for a living?'

Feb 4, 2025

Genuine question.

We all see each other as names on a forum, pixels on a screen, turtles all the way down...

But what do you/we do?

Its easy to imagine the more exotic... the fancy forum names... the impression we all try to imply to others..

But what do you really do? What is your day to day existence...?

Once upon a time, on a forum far far away.... I talked a lot of rubbish... Then i learned to put my hands where my mouth was, and became a knifemaker. Still kinda do that... but my hands have become a little less expressive lately, and my gob is making a comeback. (got help us all)...

I wondered if it might be this one:

Thread 'Where do we come from - What are our backgrounds?'

Nov 17, 2022

I was pondering all the different types of people that do bushcraft, I came into it through a childhood freedom to roam about, a sense of adventure, making dens and shelters, camping out etc as a kid. I remember once camping out, I didn't own a sleeping bag etc, it was so cold, the whole night wad just shifting about shivering, a great learning experience. I also enjoyed military surplus stuff, kit in general and edged tools ( my first career was carpentry and cabinet making).
Then I went on a Woodlore fundamental course, me and my friend figured the we'd go, it would be fun in the woods...
