What would you do with these?

Found a whole load of those brass plates found on horse harnesses at the market

Though a few matched pairs most are very odd

Some are oval

All are worn and most are missing lugs at the back, (but could be fixed.)

What would you do with them?

Melt them down into ingots and sell them to someone with a milling machine?

I would punch tree names into them and use them for identifying specimen trees (or plants). I normally use a strip of copper, but they would work well as plant labels

Belt buckles? The ones that are fastened by a peg going into a hole in the leather.

They would make great bolsters and spacers for knife handles.
