I found this whilst looking around my local antiques / flea market and was drawn to it becuase it was hand forged and had obviously seen a bit of life. The blade is around 3mm thick and is uneven along its length with lots of bruising from the forging process. Any ideas as to its orginal use? It has a reasonable weight in the hand and is really suited to chopping.

Thanks,

don't think it's a herb chopper, they have a rounded blade for "rolling" over the herbs.

These are all vintage herb choppers with flat edged blades
